Adopt a Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed

Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed Dog

Little Man D3920 the Dog needs a home

 Hi there!

My name is Little Man.

I was born 12/4/2012, weigh 5 lbs. and am a neutered male Chorkie.

In case you don’t know, that is just a fancy word for a dog that is part Chihuahua and part Yorkie (Yorkshire Terrier).

I came from Arkansas where I was a breeder dog.

Then one day I was told I was going to rescue in Minnesota.

Wow, what a lot of changes for me to get used to there!

The biggest change is that Minnesota has a place called “outside” that my foster mom seems so excited about.

I hate “outside”!

I think something is supposed to happen there because we go there often and she always says “go potty!”.

All I know, though, is that it is COLD “outside”!

I don’t want to be there and I just stand there shivering, trying to figure it out until she finally brings me back in the house.

Sometimes I pee on the floor when I come in.

My foster mom yells, “No, Little Man!” and takes me right back “outside”.

I hate “outside”! My foster mom also has potty pads for me to use in the house that I use most of the time.

I live with four other dogs that everyone calls “little”, but they are all bigger than me.

I get along fine with them if they don’t try to be the boss of me.

They seem to have fun wrestling together, tugging on toys, and chasing each other.

I don’t do it with them.

It seems kind of scary, but it is kind of exciting to watch them and bark at them. I like watching!

They also have toys that they chew on and tear apart.

I have toys, but I don’t really know what to do with them yet.

Before rescue, I lived in a cage all the time and didn’t have toys.

I watch and I am trying to learn.

Maybe someday I will play with toys.

There is also a cat that lives with me.

He is also bigger than me and even bigger than some of the other dogs.

He doesn’t try to tell me what to do or bark at me, though, so I think I like him.

People have talked about kids, but I haven’t met any yet.

I like most new people, though, so since kids are just small people, I think I would like them if they are old enough to know how to safely handle a dog as small as I am.

I am good about staying in my crate at night and part of the day.

Sometimes, I even just enjoy hanging out in my crate or in my own bed. Sometimes I like to snuggle up in the lap of my person and sometimes I just want to be near my person. My favorite place to be is curled up on the back of the couch or a big chair where I can watch everyone.

I also like to just have my alone time.

When I have had enough of people wanting to be too close and snuggly, I will let you know by getting a little growly and nippy.

Just let me have some time alone, though, and I will be right back to my sweet self again before you know it!

I have a little problem with one of my knees.

Every once in a while, it “pops out” of joint when I walk, but it is no big deal.

It just pops right back in. The vet said I don’t need surgery unless it gets really bad.

Lots of little dogs like me have knee problems.

I would love to live with someone who is home more than they are gone that would be willing to help me get betterwith my potty training and enjoy just hanging out with me all day.
